How much do backlinks cost in India? Rather than guess, we can answer it with our own numbers. As of September 2026 we list 299 real sites we can actually place on, each with its price and country. For 287 of them we also have Domain Authority, Domain Rating and estimated monthly traffic on file, recorded between July and September 2026; the other 12 are new partner sites whose traffic we are still checking. Everything below comes from that list.
The short version: the median site costs ₹12,999 per placement, the middle half sit between ₹6,999 and ₹35,999, and the full range runs ₹2,999 to ₹99,999. The more useful finding is what doesn't explain those prices. Domain Authority barely does.
What 299 priced sites reveal about backlink prices in India
These are our own listed prices for placements on real sites, not a survey of the whole market. They are prices we actually charge, with each site's metrics recorded next to them, so here is all of it.
| Price per placement (ex-GST) | |
|---|---|
| Cheapest | ₹2,999 |
| 25th percentile | ₹6,999 |
| Median | ₹12,999 |
| 75th percentile | ₹35,999 |
| 90th percentile | ₹56,999 |
| Dearest | ₹99,999 |
97% of them (291 of 299) are recorded as do-follow. Only 3 are marked no-follow; the other 5 have no flag on file.
Domain Authority barely predicts what a link costs
This is the finding that should change how you buy. We measured how strongly each metric moves with price across the 287 sites where we have all three on file:
| Metric | Correlation with price |
|---|---|
| Domain Authority (DA) | 0.25 |
| Domain Rating (DR) | 0.18 |
| Monthly traffic (log) | 0.41 |
A correlation of 0.25 is weak. Knowing a site's DA tells you very little about what it should cost, and by extension, quoting DA at you tells you very little about what you are getting. Traffic has the strongest relationship of the three, and even that is only moderate. Most of that is geography: Indian sites carry more traffic and cost more (see below). Split Indian and global sites apart and the order changes. DR comes out ahead in both groups (it trails in the table above because Indian sites cost far more at much the same DR), DA stays weak in both, and among Indian sites traffic barely tracks price at all.
That matters because DA is the number nearly every seller leads with, and it is a number that cheap links can inflate.
The same DA can cost 20 times more
If DA set the price, sites with identical DA would cost roughly the same. They don't. Here are the three most common DA scores in the list:
| DA | Sites | Cheapest | Dearest | Spread |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 | 31 | ₹3,999 | ₹64,999 | 16.3× |
| 41 | 25 | ₹2,999 | ₹64,999 | 21.7× |
| 42 | 24 | ₹3,999 | ₹69,999 | 17.5× |
So "DA 41" is not a price, a quality tier, or a promise. It is one number that can sit on a site with 1,254 monthly visitors or 170,000.
What you actually pay per visitor
Divide price by the audience it reaches and the spread gets wider still. Across the 287 measured sites the median is ₹3,396 per 1,000 monthly visitors, but the best and worst are more than 1,500 times apart.
| Price | DA | Monthly traffic | Cost per 1,000 visitors | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best value | ₹10,999 | 61 | 338,827 | ₹32 |
| ₹12,999 | 78 | 174,668 | ₹74 | |
| ₹28,999 | 48 | 338,000 | ₹86 | |
| Worst value | ₹58,999 | 71 | 1,171 | ₹50,383 |
| ₹69,999 | 75 | 1,690 | ₹41,420 | |
| ₹44,999 | 60 | 1,117 | ₹40,286 |
Look at the worst rows. Those are high-DA sites with very few readers: DA 71 with 1,171 visitors a month, at ₹58,999. That is the single most expensive mistake in link buying, and it is expensive precisely because the metric looks impressive. You are paying for a score, not an audience.
Indian sites cost more than global ones
| Country | Sites | Median price | Median monthly traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| India | 107 | ₹44,999 | 11,574 |
| Global | 151 | ₹6,999 | 2,395 |
| United States | 35 | ₹17,999 | 2,197 |
Traffic medians cover measured sites only; the 12 partner sites still being checked are all Indian.
Indian sites in this list cost more than six times as much as global ones. They do carry more traffic, nearly five times as much at the median, but that does not explain the gap. Compare sites with similar traffic and the typical Indian one still costs at least four times as much: ₹47,999 against ₹6,999 among sites under 3,000 monthly visitors, and ₹47,999 against ₹10,999 among sites with 10,000 or more. The likeliest reason is demand: every Indian business wants Indian links, and the supply of genuine Indian publishers is small.
If your customers are in India, that premium is usually worth paying. If you are ranking a global SaaS or a blog, it is money you don't need to spend.
What this means when you are buying
- Ask for traffic before DA. It measures what you are actually paying for: readers.
- A high DA with low traffic is the trap. The three worst-value sites in the entire list all have DA 60 or more and fewer than 2,000 monthly visitors.
- Compare on cost per 1,000 visitors, not on price or DA alone. It is one division and it reorders everything.
- Only pay the India premium if you need India.
You can check any of this yourself: our guest post marketplace shows every site's niche and exact price, plus its DA and monthly traffic wherever we have measured them, before you commit to anything.
Backlink prices in India: the honest ranges
Here is roughly what each link type costs in the Indian market in 2026:
- Web 2.0, profile and bookmark links (bulk): ₹5–₹50 per link. Cheap, foundational, low individual power — but useful in volume to build a natural base. Our Starter Pack is 300 of these for ₹699.
- Directory and local citations: ₹20–₹200 each. Important for trust and local SEO.
- Contextual links / niche edits (your link added inside an existing article): ₹800–₹5,000.
- Guest posts (a new article published with your link): ₹500–₹15,000+, depending on the site's traffic, authority and country.
- Mixed foundation packs: sold as bundles — a few hundred rupees and up, because they include hundreds or thousands of web 2.0, profile, wiki and bookmark links in one delivery.
The key insight: the cheapest links are not "bad" — they are foundational. The expensive mistake is buying only cheap links, or paying premium prices for what is secretly a cheap link.
Cost of guest posts (where most of the money goes)
Guest posts are the priciest type because a real editor publishes a real article on a real site. Sellers price them by the site's Domain Authority (DA):
- DA 30+ sites: ₹2,000–₹4,000 per post. Ours: Guest Post DA 30+ at ₹2,999.
- DA 50+ sites: ₹4,500–₹8,000 per post.
- DA 70+ sites: ₹10,000–₹25,000+ per post. Ours: Guest Post DA 70+ at ₹14,999.
If you would rather see the price of each individual site before committing, our guest post marketplace lists real vetted Indian sites with their niche, DA, monthly traffic and exact price.
The jump from DA 50 to DA 70 is steep because genuinely high-authority sites are rare and protective about what they publish. If someone offers you a "DA 70 guest post" for ₹1,500, it is not a DA 70 guest post.
What about the really cheap offers?
You have seen the offers: "thousands of backlinks for ₹99." Those are real — and they are almost always automated spam from link farms and software. In small doses they do nothing; at scale they can get your site filtered or penalised, which is far more expensive to fix than it was to buy.
So here is the honest rule: cheap foundational links (web 2.0, profiles, citations) bought in sensible volume are perfectly fine — you can see honest, itemised pricing on our India backlink packages. Cheap links sold as "high-DA" or "guest posts" are a lie about what you are actually getting. For the full picture, read our dedicated guide on whether cheap backlinks are worth it. How much should you spend on backlinks?
It depends on your competition and goal. Rough monthly budgets that actually move rankings:
- New site / low-competition niche: ₹2,000–₹5,000/month — a starter or growth pack plus the occasional guest post.
- Mid-competition: ₹5,000–₹12,000/month — a mixed pack for breadth plus editorial guest posts for editorial weight.
- Competitive head terms: ₹12,000–₹25,000+/month — DA 50/70 guest posts (or the 5x Guest Post Bundle) backed by a mixed foundation pack.

Do expensive backlinks rank better?
Not automatically, and now we can put a number on it. Across the sites measured above, Domain Authority correlated with price at just 0.25, and the worst value-for-money sites in the entire list were the expensive high-DA ones with very few readers. Relevance and placement matter more than the price tag. A ₹3,000 contextual link inside a relevant, well-read article often outperforms a ₹15,000 link on a high-DA site that has nothing to do with your niche. Do not equate price with value — equate relevance + real authority + editorial placement with value. That is the whole philosophy behind how to buy backlinks the right way.

The bottom line
Backlinks in India cost what they cost because of the labour and the authority behind them. Pay foundational prices for foundational links, and real-guest-post prices for real guest posts — and never the reverse. When the price and the link type do not match, you are either overpaying or about to buy spam.
