Guest posting sites in the USA: how many have US readers?
Of 41 guest post sites listed as US sites, 13 (32%) get most of their organic readers from the US, on both Ubersuggest and Semrush. 23 (56%) get most of their readers from outside the US on both tools. If you buy a guest post to reach US buyers, the country on the listing is not enough. Check where the readers are.

The results
45 sites listed as US sites. Both tools had traffic data for 41 of them. A site counts as majority US when the US is more than 50% of its organic visits.
| What both tools say | Sites | Share of 41 |
|---|---|---|
| Most readers in the US | 13 | 32% |
| Most readers outside the US | 23 | 56% |
| The two tools disagree | 5 | 12% |
- The two tools agreed on 36 of 41 sites. Where they disagreed, the gap was wide, so one tool alone can mislead you.
- On Semrush, the median site had 29% of its desktop organic traffic from the US. 18 sites were under 25%.
- 18 of the 45 sites had fewer than 1,000 US desktop visits a month on Semrush.
- 2 sites showed no measurable organic traffic on either tool.
How we measured
We took every guest post site in our publisher records whose listing gave the United States as its country: 45 sites, across tech, lifestyle, business, news and hobby topics.
For each one we read organic visits by country from two tools: Ubersuggest (October 2026 data) and Semrush (desktop, US database against Worldwide, data dated 5 November 2026). The US share is US visits divided by all visits.
A site counts as majority US only when both tools put the US above 50%. We publish totals only, not site names.
What this cannot tell you
- Both tools estimate traffic. Neither sees a site’s real analytics, so treat every figure as a range, not a count.
- The Semrush figures are desktop only. A site read mostly on phones can look different.
- 45 sites is a small sample, drawn from one company’s records. It shows how often the label and the readers differ, not the share across the whole market.
- Organic search is one source of readers. Newsletter, social and direct visitors are not counted here.
What to check before you buy
Ask for organic traffic by country, from a named tool, with a date. A country on the listing is not that.
Check the US number itself, not only the share. A site that is 90% US with 300 visits a month reaches very few people.
If one tool says US and another does not, treat the site as unproven until you see more.
This study is why our marketplace lists a site only when measured traffic shows most of its organic readers are in the US, the UK or Canada, whatever the listing says. None of the 23 sites above that both tools call non-US is sold on backlinkcart.com. Our link building statistics show price, authority and traffic for the sites we do list, and Domain Rating vs traffic covers the same gap for authority scores.
If you only need a link and do not care who reads the page, this check matters less, and a cheaper site without US readers may be enough for you.
Questions
Do US guest posting sites actually have US readers?
Often not. Of 41 guest post sites listed as US sites and measured on both Ubersuggest and Semrush, 13 (32%) get most of their organic readers from the US on both tools. 23 (56%) get most of their readers from outside the US on both.
How do I check where a guest post site's readers are?
Open the site in a traffic tool that splits organic visits by country, such as Semrush or Ubersuggest, and divide the US figure by the total. Check two tools if you can: in our study they agreed on 36 of 41 sites, and the 5 they disagreed on were far apart.
Is a site's country the same as its readers' country?
No. The country on a listing usually says where the site or its owner is based, or which market it claims to serve. It does not tell you where its search visitors come from. In this study the median site had 29% of its Semrush desktop traffic from the US.
What share of US readers should a guest post site have?
If you sell to US buyers, look for a site where most organic readers are in the US, and check that the US traffic itself is large enough to matter. In this study, 18 of the 45 sites had fewer than 1,000 US desktop visits a month on Semrush.
