Best Place to Buy Backlinks in 2026: Five Channels, Priced and Compared
Five places sell you a backlink, and the price gap between them is about 100×. We priced each one on the same day — marketplace gigs, agency tiers, pick-your-own sites, direct publisher quotes and bulk packs — and put our own survival data against them.

There are five places to buy a backlink, and the price gap between them is about 100×. That gap is not a quality ladder. It is a difference in what you are buying — a placement on a site with readers, or a page you could have published yourself.
Here is each channel with prices we checked on 20 September 2026, and the question that decides whether it suits you.

Freelancer marketplaces: cheapest, and mostly not guest posts
We pulled the live listings on SEOClerks on 20 September 2026. Across the 40 best-selling gigs in its Guest Posts category, the median price is $10, and the top sellers by order volume place on Medium, Reddit, Tumblr and similar platforms — pages anyone can publish. The best-selling niche edit gig is 3 links for $51, with 961 orders behind it.
Real editorial placements do exist there. The highest-selling one we found offers 3 posts on aged, niche-matched domains with traffic for $139 — about $46 a post, with 501 orders. That is the price floor for a genuine placement on this channel, and it sits an order of magnitude above the category median.
Suits you if you can read a gig description closely and you want a specific, small job done. Watch for "DA 90+" claims on platform pages: the DA belongs to medium.com, not to your placement.
Managed outreach agencies: the site is chosen for you
Agencies pitch publishers on your behalf and price per placement by authority. Outreach Monks publishes "starting at $99 for DR20 placements", scaling with Domain Rating, niche difficulty and traffic (their pricing page, 20 September 2026). Most Western agencies put per-link prices on individual service pages rather than one table, so ask for the figure at the tier you actually want.
Suits you if you want the work handled and the price is not the constraint. Watch for paying a DR-based price for a site with no readers — the two are barely related, which the next section shows.
Pick-your-own-site marketplaces: you see the domain first
This is the channel we run, so treat what follows as disclosed self-interest, with the numbers open to inspection. We price 724 sites: ₹2,999 to ₹72,999, median ₹8,999. Every listing shows its domain, Domain Authority and monthly organic traffic before you pay.
The useful finding from that price list: Domain Authority correlates with price at just 0.13, while traffic correlates at 0.26 and moves the median price nearly fivefold from the lowest traffic band to the highest. 72% of the DA 50+ sites we price get under 5,000 visits a month. Suits you if you want to judge the site yourself rather than trust a tier label. Watch for marketplaces that hide the domain until after payment.
Direct from the publisher: cheapest real placement, most work
Ask a blog in your niche what a sponsored article costs and you skip everyone's margin. We have been asking publishers directly since 19 September 2026. Two have answered in writing so far: a business blog at ₹1,900 per article, and an investing blog at DR 32 at ₹5,000 per article with one dofollow link, paid before publication and live within 24 hours.
That is the whole sample so far — two replies from fifteen publishers contacted — and we will keep updating it. We do not name them; they are suppliers.
Suits you if you want a handful of links a month and enjoy the emails. Watch for the hidden costs: finding the sites, writing to standard, chasing publication, and no recourse if the post disappears.
Cheap bulk packs: what 500 links for ₹2,000 actually contains
Packs sold by count are built from placements you can create without anyone's approval. We know exactly what survives, because we re-check everything we deliver. Across 14,793 verified placements:
- Social Bookmark: 0 live of 265
- Directory / Citation: 0 live of 233
- Web 2.0: 70% live (7,346 of 10,497)
- Wiki: 82% live
- Article: 91% live
Two whole categories produced no surviving links at all, and the cheapest categories are the ones that vanish.
To be clear about our own shelf: our entry packs are priced in this band too — ₹699 for 300 links is ₹2.33 a link, and ₹4,499 for 10,000 works out at ₹0.45 — and they are built from these same placement types. That is why we describe them as foundation links rather than editorial placements, price them accordingly, and publish the survival rate by type instead of a single headline number. A pack priced per link is not a cheaper guest post; it is a different product.
So which is the best place to buy backlinks?
Work it out per live link, not per link sold. A ₹2,000 pack of 400 bookmark links that survive at 0% costs infinity per live link. A $139 pack of 3 posts on real sites costs about $46 each and stays up. A ₹8,999 marketplace placement you chose yourself, on a site with traffic you verified, is the most expensive line item and usually the cheapest outcome.
What should I ask before buying from any of them?
Five questions, in this order:
- What is the site's monthly organic traffic? Not its DA. Ask for a screenshot or a third-party estimate.
- Will I see the exact domain before you publish? A "no" is a fine answer to get, but you should get it before paying.
- Is the link dofollow, in the body text, and permanent? Sidebar and footer links are a different product.
- Will the post carry a sponsored label? Some publishers only sell labelled posts, which changes the value.
- What happens if it disappears? Ask for the policy in writing. Ours is 12 months of free replacement.
Is buying backlinks against Google's guidelines?
Paying for links that pass ranking signals is against Google's spam policies, and every channel above carries that risk. What changes between them is how a placement looks to a reader: an article on a site with genuine readers and editorial standards is a different object from a page created solely to hold a link. That is the distinction we build around, and it is also the honest reason to avoid the ₹5-a-link end of the market.
Where is the cheapest place to buy backlinks?
Direct from small publishers, at ₹1,900–₹5,000 per article in the two quotes we have on record, if you are willing to do the outreach, writing and chasing yourself. If you count your own time, marketplaces and agencies exist because that work is real.
